Baggage
One of the metaphors from the Camino that is clear is one’s baggage. We all have to carry our backpack. Some have more stuff and some have less. The more you have, the heavier your load. The less you have, the lighter your load. It is good to reflect on the stuff I carry and how I might lighten the load.
Additionally having everything you need in your backpack, helps you to realize how little you need to live and be happy (I did not meet any sad pilgrims). At home I have SO much stuff. How much of this stuff can I give away because I really do not need it. There is something liberating about letting go of material objects.
