I notice that during the first week of the
Camino, the days seem interminable. The days were hard physically and
exhausting and the way to our destination was interminable. It is as if we had
been on a trek for a month and reaching Santiago seems SO far away. Now that I
am managing my blisters it is not so bad. Each day we do the same thing: walk,
eat, sleep, repeat. Each day blends into the rest and I forget what day of the
week it is. Like monks, who pray and work, we come to a routine; walk, rest,
food, drink and conversation–and the hope of finding the answers to our
questions.
