I went to the Alemany Farmers’ Market and there was a pall of sadness about Fumi’s stall. She had a birthday on the first. But she is recovering from surgery and still undergoing chemotherapy. Fluid collects in her abdomen causing her great discomfort. Her doctors are considering giving her palliative care. She is a courageous woman to fight against cancer—but her strength is fading her, though she is still her warm, amiable self. Our Alemany flower is fading. Miracles are possible… Say a prayer for her.
