Hirshhorn was an exhibit of that explored the force of gravity on paintings and
the edge as a compelling aspect of the perception of artwork.

Phenomena
Reverse Spell 1963, Paul Jenkins. He
described himself as a “abstract phenomenist,” who used an ivory knife to pour,
spread, guide thinned acrylic pain across canvas and paper, that produced
vibrant glazes of color.
